Coming to a City Near You?

Spring time is quickly approaching, and do you know what that means?? Two words. Spring. Break! I am not going to sit here and brag tell you that I am going somewhere warm and tropical, but really, I need WANT to go somewhere warm and tropical. Actually, I just want to go SOMEWHERE.

That's where you come in to rescue me wonderful blogging world! Any suggestions on a trip for my mom and I to take? Here are the details:

  • We live in West Michigan.
  • We both work in schools, so we have the same Spring Break, which will be at the beginning of April.
  • We will not be traveling internationally.
  • We are looking for a fun, inspiring place that is not too expensive.
  • We prefer to drive, but we're open to flying.
  • We like to craft, shop and go to the beach. (Ahh the life!)

Does anybody have any suggestions? If we don't go somewhere, we will end up spending EVERY day at Michael's, JoAnn's or Hobby Lobby (where the clerks already know us by name). There is nothing wrong with this, but are there any craft-inspiring places that we aren't thinking of? And if not inspiring, then, warm, sunny places that we would like?? Please share your thoughts, ideas and information. My buoyant teacher attitude (that needs recharging) thanks you in advance.

  2. Lake Michigan! I'm pretty lucky to live so close, it's just that in the middle of Feb., it never feels like it is going to thaw!!

  3. I live on in West MI too and I don't think that the big lake EVER gets warm enough for me, but the kids don't mind and the sand is plenty warm.

  4. Oh I want to go somewhere tropical too. I always vote for Hawaii, but that may be a little far from MI (I am in CA).

  5. I have no suggestions for you because it has been so long since we have gone anywhere warm I don't remember what it's like!!! I just found your blog and had to comment because our whole family are red heads and we also live in Michigan. My husband grew up in South Haven. I hope you find a great place and have a wonderful time :)

  8. Follow Me Friday follower. Good luck on your search, can't think of anywhere right now. We live close to the pocono's, which is real nice, but not real warm right now.

  12. Ha, ha, you live in West MI which is where we normally go when we want to escape! Grand Haven is always nice because that side of the mitten has nice sandy beaches. So I guess I am out of suggestions.

Have you ever been too Savannah GA? I can't wait to get back to visit there. A very cool town ...you can drive to Tybee Island where there is a beach!
