Merry Christmas Banner

I have been eyeing this garland from a certain (over-priced) store with the initials P.B.

I knew I didn't have enough room (because of this) to make a whole garland, so I just made a banner instead. Besides, it's easier to make and doesn't take as long.

I also switched mine up a bit and used some old music I found at Goodwill for .49 cents. I used my Cricut Schoolbook cartridge to cut out the letters in black.

Cut a sheet of music in half (hot dog way) and glue together at the seam.

Use the same Cricut cartridge to cut the scalloped edges. If you don't have a Cricut, use those fancy-schmancy scrapbooking scissors instead! Glue it all together.

Set up your Christmas tree and place the banner on it. (Never leave paper on the Christmas tree with the tree lit unattended, I would hate to have your craft (among other things) go up in flames. Yikes!)

So pretty. So NOT expensive.

Just wait till you hear what happened when I started hanging the ornaments on the Christmas tree... At least my banner is pretty! I am going to link to these parties this week.

Burlap Garland

I am in love with this burlap garland from Michael's! I just had to share it with you. You get 10 whole feet!

Of course, you could easily make it yourself, but did you see the 50% off coupons Michael's had out for Black Friday? I think it was like regularly $3.99. At 50% off I think it is cheaper than buying the yardage needed to make your own. I couldn't resist. Here it is on my Christmas tree.

Fall Memo Boards

Remember my picture frame memo board project? Well, I decided to switch it up a bit for different occasions/seasons. Very. Simple. Thing. To. Do.

Cut new paper and place into said picture frame. Enjoy.

I ended up adding a tree cut-out to the busy background.

GIVE Thanks

I am so excited for Thanksgiving this year! I also feel extra thankful for my family and friends, and people like you, who read my blog.

I found these letters at JoAnn's recently and knew exactly what I was going to do with them.

I coated them with brown paint. Then found some coordinating scrapbook papers and traced each letter.

Cut out each letter and glue the paper onto the letter.

I then affixed the word "thanks" to the bottom of the "E" letter.

Put a coat of Mod Podge over everything. After it dries, embellish your letters with whatever you would like.

Then display and give thanks for all the wonderful things in your life!

Burlap Thankful Sign

This weekend I had the opportunity to craft-away the days! I made some Thanksgiving crafts and here is one of them.

Remember my Good Luck Sign? Well, here is one for Thanksgiving.

Paint and age a picture frame whatever color you would like.

Stencil your letters onto burlap.

Punch or cut out a leaf shape to go next to the stenciled word.

Put into a frame and display!

Indian Summer Bicycle Basket

It's conference week at school. I am really busy. Since Mother Nature has decided to give Michigan another round of nice weather, I thought I would share something I wish I was doing... riding my bike!

FYI: An Indian summer is a meteorological phenomenon that occurs in autumn, in the Northern Hemisphere. It is characterized by a period of sunny, warm weather, after the leaves have turned following an onset of frost, but before the first snowfall.

PS: Yes, Tulah really does go for bike rides with me and she totally seems to enjoy herself. She's pretty cool.
