Floating Frame Address Plaque

Have you seen the awesome floating frames at the Dollar Tree?? They look like this:

Did you know the word "Love" is stuck to one of the pieces of glass, but if you run it under hot water, it comes right off- no scrubbing necessary?!?

So, I decided to paint the frame black.

Then I used my cricut to cut out some address numbers. I used some adhesive paper so that it acted like stickers. I also used the cricut mat to help me place the numbers onto one of the pieces of glass.

Put it back in the frame and you have a nice housewarming gift, or a Mother's Day gift, etc.

  1. I love it! I saw those frames at the Dollar Tree the other day and wasn't sure what I could do with it. I might have to go back and get some of them now. Thanks for the idea! :)

  2. Hi Courtney, I love your creative idea. The Dollar Tree is going to be swamped with shoppers looking for this frame after seeing your post. I recently did a post on tin flower pots that I used for my street numbers, you can view it here is you wish:

  9. Great idea! If I had a covered front door area, I'd definitely consider doing this {although I'd have to order vinyl ~ no cricut}.

I love it when someone looks at one thing (as you did at the dollar store) and sees far greater potential. Excellent!!! Perfect bragable. Thank you for linking up!

  14. What a great idea, it would make an ideal housewarming gift. It might work to stencil numbers on the glass, for those who don't have a way to cut them out of vinyl.

  31. Creative idea! If you are hanging it out side you might want to make reverse letters (mirror image) so you can stick them on the back of the glass.
I have a graftec robo cutter (similar to a wishblade) and must made mirror image (backwards) letters for the first time for a window.

  38. Black and white is a classic color scheme for a house number plaque, but consider the colors in your home's exterior. Perhaps your house number plaque would look better in blue on white, yellow on black, or even something a little wild like orange on blue. You can use your house number plaque to show the colors of a favorite sports team, coordinate with your garden, or match your car.
